New Year’s Academic Resolutions

The beginning of a new year is a chance for a fresh start, and practically all of us have something that we wish to do to improve our lives. As 2014 began, we at Sylvan encouraged our students to think about this concept and asked them, “What are your goals for 2014? What are your plans for meeting these goals?” Our students responded with a combination of academic and personal goals that you will read below. With goal setting, it is good practice to write out your goals and look back at them periodically – a goal that is written down is much more likely to be met. As you read the students’ goals, consider what small steps you can take today to help achieve your own goals and aspirations.

Well, Hello 2014

NEW YEAR, FRESH START. HERE ARE MY PLANS…

My goal is to…

Get the best grades I can in 7th grade.

I will do that by…

Trying to turn in my homework on time.

Try to study for my tests.

Not ignore the teachers, no matter how fun it is to make them mad.

Ask questions when I have them.

If I don’t understand something, I come in for tutoring.

- Danielle B.

Well, Hello 2014

NEW YEAR, FRESH START. HERE ARE MY PLANS…

Stop procrastinating with schoolwork.

Be more useful around the house.

Well, I was asked to write down two resolutions, and here is what I came up with. With much of my schoolwork, I tend to procrastinate. Obviously, doing this hurts me in the long run. In addition, I feel I should make myself more useful around the house.
